THE FUTURE
'Cause it already happened.
While staring at the college brochures that the representatives of that college handed out to me in school, I found myself stressing the importance of the future. When I got home, my attempt to concentrate on the task at hand (which was my psych homework) was futile. Then I began to wonder why I was avoiding the brochures. Was I, along with many other young adults, classically conditioned like Pavlov's dogs to fear the future, and is "the future" really as bad as adults make it to be?
The next day I was Skyping with my oracle- my care-free sister, Sara. She started telling me that senior year in high school would pass with the blink of an eye, and although I tried not to blink like it was a game - it was inevitable. I started thinking about the girl in my government class who dropped out of school. I wasn't sure if she was afraid of the future, or if it was just Reno being the nation's worst city in high school dropouts; but either way, it was some sort of evidence delivered in a shiny package to one Yousef Al-Nuaimi.
Sara never said that just because time is passing by, I'm not going to have a glorious time. The glorious times I'm having now nullifies the rate at how fast time is going by. The mindset of the future depends on the persons narcissism and optimism. And while most people are narcissists, I'm going to try to stay optimistic so while I look back on this time, it'll be a positive retrospect. But for now, I have to summarize Pavlov's accidental findings on his classically conditioned dogs.

LANA DEL REY // RIDE
I think everything Lana Del Rey does is beautiful so I admit my opinion is biased, but this is by far the most divine (there's no other way to describe it) short film / music video I've seen in a while- and that's including Mr. Beale and Mr. Bouvier (super-digress.)
In the video, Lana (first-name basis) is a not-so-slutty bikers chick who apparently sleeps with older men and calls herself "the other woman." This is why I love her. She delivers more class than coach on a G4, but at the same time she has this arcane other side that everyone delves into but can't really find anything, until now. Here's the RIDE short-film!

MODEL TURNED MUSICIANS
I love models.
Everyone that loves me loves models.
This is not a poem, it's just a 17-year-old boy expressing his love for models.
I love music.
Everyone that loves me loves music.
This is starting to sound like a fucked up, impetuous poem, but I promise it isn't.
When you combine Music and Models, you get M&M happiness. And the acronym is pretty amazing, too, right? When I first hear "Model turned Musicians," I think of skinny-vagina-bitches having a valid reason (failed-career-plot-twist) to whine and moan about nothing tasting good than feeling skinny (Yes, I paraphrased a Kate Moss quote.) Just kidding. And I know you're not supposed to look at models as if they have feelings (they do, OK? Look at the models rebelling wearing heels... Just saying'.) But models-turned-musicians are basically the epitome of everything good in this world aka Just Cavalli's SS '13 sequined sweater.
SO IN COMMEMORATION TO MODEL-TURNED-MUSICIANS, here are my favorites.

SKYFALL // ADELE
When Adele was rumored to be the upcoming singer for 007's next masterpiece a year ago, I was seething with excitement even though I'm not the biggest Adele fan because I can't relate to her music. I'm sorry I'm a happy mother fucker. But I forgot about it the first month because I thought it was too good to be true.
But here it is cuntalopes - Skyfall by Adele.

MUSIQUE BÉBÉ
The music babe of the day is Gaga.
One of my favorites from Gaga is "Electric Chapel."
Production parfait = religious undertones + 80's retro beats + church bells + electric guitars + eerie sounds.
It's safe to say this is one of my favorite songs of all time.

BALENCIAGA - AW 2012
While everyone is doing their SS '13's posts and reviews, I'm taking a trip back (ironically even though Autumn & Winter hasn't even presented itself, yet) because I had to make a post on BALENCIAGA Autumn/Winter 2012 (Which in my POV withstood the test of time).
The colors in the collection gleam with phosphorescence and are emblazoned with words like "Join a Weird Trip" and "Special Presentation." They're iconoclastic to typical "fashion" colors, and cross the word "fashion" out and replace it with "style." Although the collection seems mercurial, there's definitely a pattern in them.
Here are my favorites:

1991 - AZEALIA BANKS
Azealia Banks.
This is officially my first post on stylemartini, and I have to dedicate it to the chicest rapper: Azealia Banks. I first heard her in January - her raunchy and rude song 212 (Ft. Lazy Jay).
1991 - her latest vogue-esque video with tropical beats and rude lyrics.

(NY rose me, most high chose me)
Toast to the Banks.
